In the Maponics Spatial API, datasets are sources of data that you will be querying. You tell the API which dataset you're interested in querying by using its own unique uppercase code. It is not currently possible to make a cross-dataset request. Each request to the API must be made to one specific dataset, however in the case of an API call with multiple request sections, each unique request section can be to a different dataset.

Geographic Data

Geographic data is the backbone of the Maponics Spatial API. Since the API is solely focused on retrieving data in a spatial manner, there must always be a geographic dataset included in the body of your request. The only exceptions to this are the usage queries that allow you to retrieve your current API usage. As these are simply totals and tallies of your API usage, they do not require a geographic dataset to be specified.
